Keeping an Eye on the Industry

    25 June 2009

BSI, Europe's leading Specialist accommodation, meetings and event management solutions company, has launched its third paper as part of a range of publications that have been specifically developed to benefit procurement and travel managers.

Known as IndustryEye™, the latest paper, ‘Supplier Demand’, focuses on who is better placed to meet the corporates’ key priorities of lower accommodation rates and greater value – the HBA or the TMC.  Offering valuable insight and guidance, the white paper focuses on the issues of using a specialist versus generalist during an economic downturn.

Produced in partnership with the Travel Intelligence Network (TIN), the paper has been developed as a comprehensive guide to specific industry topics and issues.  IndustryEye™ – Supplier Demand, sponsored by BSI and independently written, is an authoritative 5,000-word guide to research undertaken in this area and examines the opportunities, barriers and solutions surrounding this topical subject.

Trevor Elswood, BSI’s Group Managing Director, commented:  “The economic downturn has certainly knocked corporate travel budgets over the last few months. It’s therefore important that our peers in the business travel and procurement industry have the adequate support and tools to make informed decisions about the suppliers they chose to work with, in order for them to achieve cost avoidance, better rates and best value.”

“We’re committed to supporting the industry, and our resources are developed to specifically benefit the business travel sector, offer an insight into trends, and help stimulate healthy debate and discussion”

The latest edition of The Hive™, the quarterly electronic magazine of the BSI group of companies, is also now available.  Distributed to 20,000 procurement directors, buyers and meeting planners across the UK and Europe, The Hive™ is packed full of specialist content, and is divided up into seven self-contained zones, allowing readers to get an insight into what is happening in the industry and the many different activities across the BSI group of companies.

As part of BSI’s own sustainability policies, both IndustryEye™ and The Hive™ publications are available in PDF format only, and are available to download, free of charge from a special ‘resources’ section on the various group websites.  Visit www.bsi.co.uk/resources for further information.
